We live 5 km north of Haugesund on the westcoast of Norway. We are 4 peopele and 5 newfs. And we do love it here. The first dog i got was a Chow Chow when i was nine years old. An chow chow because a newf was to big for me alone.  But I had already desided to get one, one day. This chow chow was called Chanel after the oldest dog at the kennel I was visiting since I was only 4 years old. I did lear about behavior and how to train dogs. In 1988 I did buy my first Newf . We have the newfs as family members and love to have long walks in the wood and also enjoy the shows in weekends. So for me ther have ben dogs all my life. They make my life complete.
